Rice Cooker Apple Herbs Pork Roast

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs boneless pork shoulder or Boston butt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 ½ tsp dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp fine salt
  • ½ tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil (or olive oil)
  • 1 large onion, chopped (2-2 ½ cups)
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 16 oz baby potatoes
  • 12 oz baby carrots

Directions

  1. Rub the pork shoulder with garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Place the chopped onion evenly at the bottom of the rice cooker.
  3. Place the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the onions. Add the baby potatoes and carrots around the pork.
  4. Pour the apple juice over the pork and vegetables.
  5. Set Aroma® rice cooker to the Slow Cook function and cook for 8 hours until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.
