Aroma STS Shortcut: Ground Turkey & Sweet Potato Skillet

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • ½ cup onions diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1½ cups sweet potato diced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnishing


  1. Heat olive oil with the STS® function of Aroma Rice Cooker. Add ground turkey. Use a wooden spoon to stir and cook for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add sweet potato, garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
  3. Add onions and cook until soft.
  4. Cover the lid, and cook until the sweet potatoes are tender. Don’t forget to stir occasionally. If necessary, add more olive oil or a little bit of water to cook the sweet potatoes faster.
  5. While the sweet potatoes are cooking, add the shredded mozzarella cheese, and close the lid again until the cheese melts.
  6. When the cheese melts, remove it from the rice cooker, and garnish with basil.
