Comforting One-pot Beef & Sweet Onion Rice Skillet

- 1/2 large yellow onion, cubed
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1 tsp garlic, minced
- 1 cup white rice, uncooked
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 1/2 cup Gruyére cheese, shredded
Directions
- Preheat using the Sauté-then-Simmer (STS) function.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and sauté until it turns pink.
- Incorporate cubed onion and minced garlic, cooking until golden brown and caramelized.
- Add rice, water, and season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook until the cycle is complete.
- Fluff the rice and beef mixture with a spoon, then gently fold in the shredded Gruyère cheese and peas until well combined.
- Keep warm for an additional 10 minutes.
