Mojito Iced Tea

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 4 sprigs fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 cup white rum or hard alcohol of your choice, if desired


  1. Add water to the kettle and bring it to a boil.
  2. Once boiled, steep the green tea bags in the hot water for about 10 minutes, then remove the tea bags. Squeeze the tea bags to extract any remaining flavor before discarding them.
  3. Allow the brewed tea to cool for about 20 minutes.
  4. In a serving pitcher, combine the chopped basil, rum (if using), and lime juice.
  5. Pour the cooled brewed tea into the pitcher with the basil mixture and stir well to combine.
  6. Serve the tea over ice or chill it in the refrigerator for a refreshing beverage
