Ingredients

  • 8 cups whole milk
  • 12 oz plain yogurt
  • 1 apple, peeled and sliced
  • 2 pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1½ tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ½ cup premade or store-bought caramel sauce
  • 2 cups premade or store-bought vanilla granola

Directions

  1. Add the whole milk to the inner pot of the rice cooker and close the lid. Use the Sauté-then-Simmer® (STS) function to bring the milk to a simmer, then turn off the rice cooker.
  2. Remove the inner pot from the rice cooker and allow the milk to cool to under 125°F.
  3. Mix in the plain yogurt, then return the inner pot to the rice cooker. Set the KEEP WARM function for 12 hours.
  4. Once the yogurt is ready, stir it thoroughly and scoop it out of the cooker. Place the yogurt in the fridge.
  5. Wash and dry the inner pot of the rice cooker, then return it to the cooker.
  6. Set the rice cooker to the Sauté-then-Simmer® (STS) function. Add the butter and let it melt briefly.
  7. Once the butter is melted, add the sliced apples, pears, and cinnamon to the cooker. Stirring often, cook until the fruit is soft, about 10-15 minutes.
  8. Turn off the rice cooker and scoop out the cooked fruit into a separate bowl. Allow it to cool to room temperature for about 20 minutes.
  9. Once the fruit is cooled, assemble the parfaits by layering the following ingredients (amounts to your liking) in bowls, glasses, or jars: yogurt, caramel sauce, granola, pear filling, and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Repeat the layers until your containers are full.
