Fresh Ideas for One-Pot Meals with Sauté-then-Simmer®

One-pot meals are a staple in most American kitchens. With minimal cleanup and all-in-one flavors, it’s the easiest way to get healthy dinners on the table.

But sometimes the convenience of one-pan cooking turns into a constraint. Really, how many ways can you add meat, veggies, and grains to a single pan?

Aroma’s Test Kitchen has some tricks up our sleeve! Here are six mouthwatering recipe ideas that you won’t believe are one-pot meals:

  1. Tuscan Style Salmon

Creamy sauce, flaky salmon, and decadent noodles. Start by cooking your spaghetti, linguini, or fettuccini noodles in your rice cooker so that you have one less pot to clean.

The Sauté-then-Simmer® (STS®) function makes it easy to crust your floured salmon filets with a golden finish. Vegetable stock, lemon juice, sundried tomatoes, heavy cream, and spinach add authentic Tuscan flavor to tie everything together.

  1. Caramel Pear Parfait

Did you know that you can make yogurt in a rice cooker? Homemade yogurt is an easy, healthy alternative to store-bought brands. Create sugar-free, naturally flavored yogurt with cow’s milk or your favorite plant-based milks.

Brown caramel cinnamon sauce, granola, apples, and pears are the perfect topping for this homemade parfait!

  1. Taiwanese Sticky Rice

Brown some Chinese sausage in the bottom of your rice cooker with the STS® function, then mix in dried shrimp and shitake mushrooms at the end. Soy sauce and sugar create the rice dish’s iconic, sticky texture.

Aroma’s multicooker automatically senses when your rice dish is done, and it will switch to ‘keep warm’ when it’s ready to serve.

  1. Immunity-Boosting Buddha Bowl

The more toppings, the better. Wild rice is the perfect base for this healthy bowl, but that’s just the beginning. The STS® function is designed to brown firm tofu and soften green kale inside your rice cooker.

Cook sweet potatoes even faster by sautéing them, then closing the lid to simmer in soy sauce, sugar, and water for 10 minutes. Assemble everything with avocado and sesame seeds on top.

  1. Spaghetti Squash Carbonara

Okay… technically this recipe also requires an oven pan, but it’s too good to skip! After your spaghetti squash is baked, cooled, and scooped, your Aroma rice cooker can handle the rest.

Our Sauté-then-Simmer cooking mode is the key to creamy carbonara that is bursting with flavor. Bacon, garlic, broth, peas, eggs, and parmesan cheese blend together to create a well-incorporated sauce.

  1. Chicken Alfredo Stuffed Shells

Prep in 10 minutes and get dinner on the table in under an hour! This one-pot recipe teaches you how to cook pasta shells in your rice cooker, sauté golden brown chicken, and whip up a creamy alfredo sauce.

Most filled shell recipes require multiple pans and extra time in the oven, but now you can cut out the extra steps.

Aroma’s Sauté-then-Simmer® function unlocks new opportunities with our patented liquid sensing technology. Press the STS® button and let your rice cooker do the rest. For most recipes, there’s no stirring, timing, or temperature tweaking required after you close the lid.
